An adventure or nothing

"Life is an adventure or nothing." And when we run on the adventure, we run hard and past, panting and puffing. And at the moment when we think our beating heart can take the adrenalin no more, we must remember why we are on the adventure. Because we chose to want adventure and not nothing.

The road less travelled may be accompanied with moments that are tougher than the less extraodinary. But we must remember we chose to embark on this remarkable path because we were faithful to our hearts and true to our courage. Because we wanted to be remarkable men and women who were true to ourselves. Because, what's the point of it all if we simply chose nothing?

And this week, the return of Captain Smith from his English homeland. Good to have thy soulmate back!

Refreshed and hard at work

This two weeks, missed my bright office and trusty mac, my freedom and space for creativity and my Captain Smith who is 10,000 miles away in the beautiful England, wish I was there!:( 

To express the past two weeks..

The freedom that came with the shift together with the de-freedom that came with mundane clerking tasks brought to light a strange kind of new perspective. To view from both perspectives - employer and  employee. Recognise the difference in perspectives that can create the different kinds of life - How our mindset to doing things everyday can create vastly different life paths. Which led me to think If I were to go to America, I am so excited to help out in a little cafe owned by my family there. To bring a touch of local flavour to the homesick Singaporeans out there would be meaningful. This week, also felt much less chirpy with an exacerbated sense of dullness as my best friend is not around to play with me :( Something truly feels missing :(

Solutions.

Deeply frustrated at things at so many levels.

Solutions: 

If a friend constantly leaves you feeling undermined, irritated and comes across to be in the least of your best interest, the person is not worth befriending no matter the history. Cut contact unless absolutely necessary.

If it itches, DON'T scratch it as the scratch and scab marks aren't worth it.

If the system's lousy, NEVER adhere to its nonsense and INSIST on the correct way of doing things.

If the service is bad, NEVER contain your displeasure but neither do you kick up a fuss. Make sure the bad service is RECOGNISED and INSIST on filling in a feedback form even if you feel like giving them a chance. Because if the bad do not get their just deserts, the good will never get their good endings.

Appreciate YOURSELF before anyone else does. Because most of the time people are self absorbed and are too good at forgetting courtesy.

If the area is messy, MAKE SURE it is neatened by the person who contributed to it.

If the ego is acting up, MAKE SURE humility does not forget to play its important role.

If the frustration level is up, MAKE SURE the temperature levels are down.

If the body feels intoxicated and congested, MAKE SURE you detox and refresh the stuck system.

If the situation is bad, analyse the root cause of it all. And you may realise that all the other bad emotions probably were triggered of by the root cause. Resolve to RESOLVE the cause. With no cause, there will be no effect.

And the real deal is today!

Much fun today and I fulfilled many wedding wishes of mine! :) A fresh bouquet of pure baby breaths, donning a lace veil, featuring in an english lady look as inspired by the queen in her younger days, taking my favourite red gown against the majestic fullerton pillars, and taking shots with my family and friends!

I'm so grateful to be able to fulfill these wishes together with my partner and soul mate who happens to be incredibly handsome in a suit, along with the support of my family and friends! :D And not to mention, the incredibly beautiful loft suite at my favourite Fullerton Hotel! Somehow I feel so connected with this hotel, perhaps because of its majestic colonial look that's modern but still quaint in a elegant way.

Freshly done make up with natural straight hair :) Love the make up today and was so glad I could use my own products! :D

Getting ready...

And the real deal for our photoshoot is tomorrow! So excited and have got so many things to prepare!

On a side note, had the most awesome sashimi salad at Sakae Sushi Bugis with Terina the other day! Was so impressed with the quality of the fish and vegetables, think they have improved a lot! Though, I can't say the same for other branches.
Anw, it was the first of our 'Young Businesswomen Sharing Session' as I would like to name it;) many more to come!

Life's wise lessons:)

Time flies!

Time really flies..! Checked back and realised the last post was on 23 July (which i accidentally deleted), where I was having so much trouble adjusting to the physical space of my office.. Now more than a week has flown past, and I've successfully spruced up the room with the help of my awesome personal handyman and lyn:) With a fresh coat of paint over the walls and a coat of glossy lacquer over the shelfs, clearing away all the 'dead' stuff, the room has come alive and breathing great energy!! Wonders of a good colour to the walls, instant lighting! :)) Was sooo happy in my new office space!

Of course, the other parts of the office were also spruced up with a good coat of paint and the place looks so much refreshed! But we definitely require a round two to complete the doors and one other small locker, as well as put up the posters. Photos, notice boards will also have to be up one by one! :D Glad to be doing all of these!:D

The 'tissue paper curls' that Aixin did for me, and boy, they lasted the whole day and gave me nice bouncy curls!! I'm so impressed! :D

Work at the office. Been trying to experiment red tea jelly with a variety of combinations. Here's red tea jelly with fresh apple slices :)

Red tea jelly with smooth silly beancurd. The taste was so refreshing! almost like soya milk tea! :D
